The condition for their participation on this open competition was the average grade which had to be higher than 8,5 and all the students from senior years gained right to participate. Europian movement in Srebia is the organizer of this project, and countenancer is Municipal of Belgrade, the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Serbia and the Railway of Serbia. The students will start their one-month long journey tonight at 21.30. They will stay in Wien for three days and from Wien they will continue traveling through the countries of the Europian Union.
Their leaving banquet was held in the Municipality of Belgrade, and the students were welcomed by the vice president of the Serbian goverment Bozidar Djelic. Djelic said that he expects the Agreement about stabilisation and mingling will be signed in October and that Serbia will become a candidate for the membership in EU untill the end of 2008 and that this will bring our country on a White Schengen list . He, as an "ex-inter railer" , told the students that they always should have in reserve: a small amount of money, a soap bar and some toilet papir. The students were also welcomed by the ambasador of Austria in Serbia Gerhard Jandl, the deputy of the mayor of Belgrade Radmila Hristanovic and the vicepresident of the Europian movement in Serbia Aleksandar Gatalica. The Embassy of Austria in Serbia enabled free Schengen visas for the students , and free inter - rail tickets were sponsored by the Railway of Serbia.
A top 100 students from Serbia went on a trip through EU two years ago and last year 200 of them did the same.
